The Condo Act differentiates between “maintain”, “repair” and “repair after damage”. This course will explain the differences and the significant importance of each of these ideas.
Both professionally managed and self-managed condominium corporations have an obligation to ensure that the condominium is maintained. It is important to know if responsibility for maintenance lies with the unit owner or the condominium corporation. The responsibility can vary from condominium to condominium, depending on their declaration. This course will describe what a Standard Unit By-law is and why it is so important.
This course will also explain two very important parts of the Condominium Act, 1998, S.O 1998, c. 19 (the “Act”); specifically, Sections 97 and 98.
