EV Stations in Condos – A near future reality not amenity

October 27, 2022 @ 11:30 am - 2:30 pm

Condominium owners, board members & managers:

Are you a condominium ownerboard member, or manager looking to learn more about EV chargers? This is a session, you need to attend.

In this session, we will be looking at the following items.

Types of EV chargers there are three –

1. Simple 120v outlet

2. Level 2 (240v) charging station.

3. Level 3 – chargers, DC fast charging or DCFC chargers

Condo Act Regulations supporting/governing the installation and operation of EV chargers

Short Summary of the following other considerations:

Design of existing building parking infrastructure and its effect on how charging stations may be provided to residents and visitors

Types of Parking – Assigned (common element) vs Deeded (personally owned)

Building Electrical/Transformer Capacity – A building’s ability to support charging stations depends on the original design of its electrical system.

Monitoring Electrical Load/Usage – To track usage of the charging station(s) in order to ensure that residents pay their share of the electricity used.

You will have a better understanding of what is needed in order to install an EV charger in your home or condo. We want you to feel confident that when you make the decision to purchase an electric vehicle, you have all the information necessary to do so.
